Grieco Automotive Group all began with Michael Grieco Sr. who ventured into the automotive industry in 1975 and opened his first collision center, Universal Claim Service. This led to the opening of Vantage Motor Sales in 1979. Then, in 1995, he acquired his first new car franchise, Metro Honda, now known as Grieco Honda. As the years passed and with the acquisitions of more franchises, Grieco Automotive Group was created to handle the company’s growing automotive business.
Michael Grieco Sr. began transferring the leadership role of the day-to-day operations to his son, Michael Grieco Jr., who is now one of the youngest automotive CEOs in the country. Over the years, Michael Grieco Jr. has added two Chevrolet, three Ford, one Kia, and one Mazda franchise as well as BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes, and Toyota franchises. Today, they continue to maintain a solid reputation for excellence, always striving to exceed customer expectations and deliver first-class customer service.
Grieco Automotive Group now boasts five dealerships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, six dealerships in Florida and one dealership in California. Michael’s brothers, Domenic and Robert Grieco, also play pivotal roles in the Grieco Automotive Group. As General Manager, Domenic oversees the Grieco Ford store in Raynham, Massachusetts. Domenic’s efforts and success with this dealership have enabled the Grieco Automotive Group to acquire two more high-volume Ford dealerships in Florida. Robert Grieco serves as Corporate Pre-Owned Director for the Grieco Automotive Group, overseeing the pre-owned departments for all 12 dealerships.
Contributing to the success of Grieco Automotive Group are George Smith Jr., Chief Operating Officer, and Scott Olenski, Chief Financial Officer, who are both heavily involved in the day-to-day operations as well as future development plans.
The family’s philanthropic efforts have been headed by wife and mother, Cathy Grieco. Cathy served as president of the Rhode Island chapter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s charitable organization for several years and has helped raise over $1 million towards research. Her altruistic contributions also extend to organizations like Special Olympics, The Humane Society, Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Toys for Tots, Feeding America, Water for Cambodia, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Best Foot Forward Foundation, Hasbro Children’s Hospital and other local, southern New England charities. For over two decades, the Grieco Automotive Group has been giving back to the community, not only by raising millions of dollars for charities, but also by having their employees donate countless hours to community outreach programs.
